SUPPORT FUTURE RIGHTS IN DIFFERENT WAYS

Reimagining Funding: Shifting Power to Grassroots Leaders
Funding should empower, not exclude. Yet, grassroots initiatives—particularly those led by marginalised youth, communities in crisis, and child-led initiatives—struggle to access resources. Despite being closest to the issues they seek to address, they face rigid funding structures, excessive bureaucracy, and limited direct access to financial support.
The Problem: A Funding System That Leaves Grassroots Behind
Current funding models prioritize:
-
Complex compliance requirements, excluding unregistered grassroots initiatives.
-
Short-term, rigid funding, misaligned with the evolving realities of youth-led movements.
-
Intermediary-led funding, limiting direct access for local actors.
-
Administrative and geographical restrictions, excluding marginalised initiatives.
-
Lack of grassroots decision-making power, leaving those most affected without control.
-
As a result, local solutions are underfunded, and child-youth-led movements struggle to scale their impact.
Our Approach: Opening Doors & Breaking Barriers
At Future Rights, we are reshaping how funding is accessed, distributed, and utilised—ensuring that grassroots leaders set the agenda and drive solutions.
Advocating for Accessible Funding – Identifying and prioritising seed funding and unrestricted grants free from bureaucratic barriers.
Building a Solidarity-Based Model – Raising funds through donations, events, and community-driven campaigns to support initiatives that would otherwise go unfunded.
Exploring Regranting Models – Securing funds from major donors and redistributing them transparently to grassroots actors.
Providing Capacity Support – Beyond funding, we mentor, guide, and amplify youth-led initiatives, ensuring long-term impact.
This Is More Than Funding—It’s a Shift in Power
Funding must be flexible and act as a planter—providing a secure foundation for grassroots initiatives and Future Rights itself to grow and sustain their impact.
✔️ Your contributions directly support marginalised youth and changemakers, ensuring they are central to the fight for human rights, climate justice, and social change.
✔️ By investing in Future Rights, you are investing in a new funding model—one that removes barriers, fosters inclusion, and enables grassroots leadership
